During you stay at Sans Souci you may wish to experience a variety of local Loire Valley restaurants and old village culture with regional markets. Many villages local to us have weekly food markets as well as gourmet food stores.
Amboise: Stunning historic village with three Chateaux. The Royal Chateau of Amboise is lit up beautifully at night, an evening stroll through the village or along the Loire river after dinner is also lovely. Most restaurants have a great view of the chateau. 20+ restaurants open lunch and dinner. Bookings recommended though not always necessary. Regional and very large market is held here every Sunday morning.
Montrichard: Lovely town a short distance from Sans Souci with a variety of relaxing restaurants. A beautiful open square with exterior dining with view of the old fortress towering overhead. Reservations to restaurants recommended but not always essential. Regional fresh food market is held here every Friday morning.
Loches: The royal city of Loches is a beautiful village with many boutiques and restaurants, thriving during the day and quiet at night. Reservations recommended. The regional market can be enjoyed here every Wednesday morning.
